Montine:
Hi everybody. This is Montine Blank with Intuition Painting, and today I am honored to be here with Debbie, who took part in our May 2023 Eat Paint Love Italy Retreat. Welcome, Debbie.

I also want to let folks know that you are a yoga facilitator specializing in Yoga Nidra, you’re working toward your therapeutic yoga certification, and you’re also on the path to becoming a public speaker. Is that right?

Debbie:
Yes.

Montine:
I’m really glad to have you here. Today we’ll focus a bit on your retreat experience, but please feel free to share anything else that feels important.

Debbie:
Thank you. I’m really looking forward to sharing my experience because it was truly life-changing in so many ways.

I am not an artist. I don’t have a lot of experience, and I certainly don’t have any formal training. But something about this retreat felt fun and intriguing to me. I began researching retreats that felt holistic.

At that point in my life, I was really seeking rest. I wanted a place where I didn’t have to worry about anything — where housing was included, movement was built in, meals were healthy, and everything was designed to help me rest, rejuvenate, and re-center.

When I found Eat Paint Love, I immediately thought, This looks amazing. And the fact that it was in Italy was an added bonus. I wasn’t necessarily planning international travel, but it felt like a beautiful opportunity.

So I signed up.

Once I arrived, I realized how deeply intentional everything was. I didn’t have to make decisions or manage logistics — I could just be present. The structure of the retreat allowed space for both personal reflection and group connection.

The painting process itself was incredibly freeing. I didn’t feel pressure to do anything “right.” It wasn’t about creating something perfect — it was about listening inwardly and letting whatever needed to come out, come out.

There was something really powerful about working with both sides of myself — the part that wanted control and the part that wanted freedom. Over time, those parts started to feel more balanced, almost like they were learning to work together instead of competing with each other.

I also loved being able to do this work in person, surrounded by nature, supported by the group. There was a sense of safety that made it possible to go deeper than I expected.

I left the retreat feeling clearer, lighter, and more connected to myself. It influenced how I show up in my work, in my relationships, and in how I listen to my intuition.

Montine:
Thank you so much for sharing that, Debbie. It really means a lot.

Debbie:
Thank you, Montine. I’m so grateful for the experience.

Montine:
We’re really looking forward to continuing this work in person again. Thank you, and we’ll talk soon.

Debbie:
Thank you.
