About Irmi

Her Journey into Yoga:

Originally from Germany, Irmi lived in Florida for 23 years, 1 year in New Mexico and made beautiful Asheville her home in 2022.

She is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher since 2008 and has been teaching weekly yoga classes in her community back in FL since then. She felt the urge to widen her knowledge about Yoga and Ayurveda and studied Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Yoga at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM and in Asheville with Dr. Vasant Lad. She is also registered with the Yoga Alliance as RYT 200.

Irmi fell in love with Yoga when she was 44 years old and it changed her life forever! After 2 years of practicing Yoga with TV classes and having an epiphany because of an accidental fall in her driveway, she passionately decided to become a Yoga Teacher.

“Everybody needs to know about Yoga”, was and is her exclamation, “because it works!”

Her focus and pleasure is to help people feel better emotionally, release aches and pains, improve sleep quality, improve digestion and establish a healthy and loving relationship with themselves. Irmi also loves to cook, hike, swim, play pickleball, dance, travel and spend time with her friends, children and grandchildren. Irmi is also a mixed media painter on the path to becoming a professional Artist.

Class Style

Gentle Yoga through the lens of Ayurveda:

This class is suited for beginner and experienced students. We gently move from one yoga pose to the next, embracing our breath, body and mind activity. By bringing the attention to the breath the body releases tension and the mind calms down. Traditionally yoga has been a practice to get a hold of the busy, chattering mind to experience peace and tranquility. The body benefits from the practice by releasing aches and pains, improving sleep quality and more. In this yoga class you will experience traditional yoga poses with the option to modify to accommodate our different body types and welcoming students of all walks of life.

Yoga and Ayurveda are considered sister sciences and are two sides of the same coin. Ayurveda is the natural healing modality for adopting a healthy lifestyle and appropriate diet according to the natural principles of Ayurveda. Together, Yoga and Ayurveda support longevity, health and happiness. In this class we look at Yoga through the lens of Ayurveda to balance stress, anxiety, over-activity in the mind, depression, fatigue and much more.
